André House Services

André House serves the poor and homeless. Since its founding in 1984, this ministry has inspired a number of services and programs. Because André House is interested in the well-being of the individual as well as the surrounding neighborhood, the range of services reflects this community-focused mission.

  • Supper -- André House is perhaps best known for the evening meal which is offered six times a week to all who are hungry. Approximately 600-700 plates are served every night, Saturday through Thursday. A large dining room accommodates most visitors, and a smaller room is available for families and guests with special needs.
    Supper: Saturday through Thursday, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Breakfast (offered by other organizations in our parking lot):
    Saturday 7:30am - 8:30am; Sunday 7am - 8am

  • Clothes Closet -- Individuals are welcome to choose clothing from André House's "Clothes Closet." Clothing is provided to more than 200 people each week. An ID is required for the use of this service (for book-keeping purposes).
Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 10am; Saturday 1pm.

  • Showers -- We provide showers and toiletries for our guests.
Monday through Thursday 7am and 1pm; Saturday 1pm.

  • Laundry Facilities -- Guests may drop off their clothing to be laundered and can pick it up later that afternoon.
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10am; Saturday 1pm.

  • Lockers -- Lockers can be rented for $2 per month plus a one-time $10 key deposit. Locker sign up:
    Monday through Thursday 3:30pm - 4:30pm

  • Office -- In our office, guests can receive blankets, toiletries, basic medicine, use of the phone for local and long distance calls, or a listening ear.
    Monday through Thursday 10am - Noon; 1pm - 4:30pm; Saturday and Sunday 1pm - 3pm

  • Daily Mass -- During the weekday mornings, the staff, volunteers, and guests gather in the Hospitality Center parking lot to celebrate Mass. All are welcome.
    Monday through Thursday 9:30am

  • Transitional Housing -- Two separate houses accommodate six men and five women and provide temporary homes for individuals transitioning into permanent housing. These eleven guests are joined during their evening meal by volunteers who serve meals at the main dining room. Guests are required to seek employment or attend school during their stay with us. Contact us for more information.

  • Winter Blanket Distribution -- This service is critical for those without shelter, especially during the cooler months. Annually, André house provides 2,500-3,000 blankets for Phoenix's homeless and needy folks.
Blankets are available Monday through Thursday at our building (213 S. 11th Ave.), Friday after 4:30pm and all day Saturday and Sunday at our house on 1203 W. Polk St.

  • The Niños Program -- Underlying our commitment to community, André House has focused on the needs of some of the neighborhood children. Typically 7 to 13 years of age, these children live within two blocks of the men's transitional home. Each Saturday afternoon, André House hosts a cultural, educational, or recreational activity with the objective of inspiring and fostering community and providing opportunities otherwise unavailable.
