Bro. Richard Armstrong, CSC
Richard is probably the most familiar face here at André House. He has been here since 1986 and has seen André House change and evolve during his tenure. Richard continues to be a great example of the Holy Cross tradition of service to others.
Fr. Duane Balcerski, CSC
A native of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, Duane has been a Holy Cross priest since 1971. In the past he has served the people of the Fort Portal Diocese in Uganda, East Africa, as well as ministered at Sacred Heart Parish in Colorado Springs. Now in Phoenix, Duane can be found coordinating supper on Sundays and assisting at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in northern Phoenix.
Margaret Bouffard
Margaret (or "Bouf" as she is affectionately known) is from Connecticut and just graduated from Stonehill College in May 2007. While at Stonehill she was very active with Campus Ministry and various groups on campus. If you have the privilege of getting to know her, ask her about being the mascot for some of her college's sporting events! Bouf can be found on Mondays overseeing the dinner operation for 500 folks.
Gilbert (Gib) Coyle
Gib comes to us after completing two years at West Point. Originally from Pennsylvania, he has decided to spend a year in Phoenix helping others in great need. He was active with Scouting, likes outdoor activities, and is interested in applying his faith to his work. On Saturday evenings he will be facilitating the goulash supper for a few of his new friends.
(William) Conor Kennedy
Conor is continuing as a staff member for the second year here at Andre House. A 2006 graduate from King's College (PA), Conor enjoys reading, philosophy, Shakespeare and burritos. Once again, he will coordinate Thursday's dinner which has as its main dish "Mighty Bean Burritos" (called "the best burrito north of Mexico" by more than one fan). Conor will also be heading up our "Ninos Program" this year.
(Daniel) Kelly Kennedy
Kelly joins his brother and the rest of the staff as a member of the Core Community for this year. He was graduated from King's College in May 2006 with a degree in History. After graduation he spent a year working with the Christian Brothers in Florida, mostly teaching English as a second language. While at Andre House he will head up the Sunday meal, adding his own spices and flavor to our already-delicious chili.
Hoa Nguyen
Hoa is staying on for another year with us at Andre House, since she had so much fun last year. A 2006 graduate from Emmanuel College in Boston, Hoa will probably NOT be using her skills as a mathematician, but will be continuing to serve the poor and homeless in great ways this year. She will continue to coordinate the Wednesday supper: hotdogs, beans, and -- for some reason -- a hard-boiled egg for each guest!
Fr. Bill Wack, CSC
Bill is in his sixth year as director of André House and his 14th year as a Holy Cross priest. He was born and raised in South Bend, IN, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Government and Divinity. Along with his director duties at André House, Bill assists at various parishes and schools throughout Phoenix, celebrating the Sacraments, giving talks, and helping with retreats.
Kurt Zampier
Kurt comes to us also from the East, having been graduated in May 2007 from King's College (PA). Kurt had been coming down to Andre House with several students from Kings for the last four years over Christmas Break, so the transition to the full-time staff was fairly easy. Among his many duties this year he will be in charge of Tuesday's Spaghetti extravaganza.
